Police: Hudson Valley Woman Steals Stroller From Rite Aid Using Her Baby
A local woman is accused of removing a stroller from its display, placing her baby in it and walking out.
Last Monday, 33-year-old Deidre Mayr of Saugerties entered a Rite Aid at the Simmons Plaza on State Route 9W in the Town of Saugerties and stole baby stroller and various other items from the store, police say.
Mayr is accused of removing the baby stroller from a display, unwrapping it, placing her 14-month-old child into the stroller and walking out of the store.
Mayr then allegedly placed other items she stole into the stroller in an attempt to conceal her criminal activity.
Mayr was charged with petit larceny and endangering the welfare for a child, misdemeanors. She was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Saugerties Court on July 5.
