Police: Brooklyn Man Found With Large Amount of Heroin In Hudson Valley

Following a traffic stop in the Hudson Valley, three people were charged after police allegedly found a large about heroin.

On Wednesday, a deputy from the Columiba County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a car in the Town of Greenport for allegedly driving without a front license plate and dark tinted side windows.

During the traffic stop, 21 bundles, which consisted of 203 individual doses of heroin was found in the car, police say. Authorities estimate that the street value of the heroin is around $2,000

A passenger, Peter R. Medina, 25, of Brooklyn was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, a felony. Medina was arraigned in Claverack Town Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail with no bail.

A second passenger, 31-year-old Katie M. Murray of Durham was arrested for possession of a hypodermic instrument, a misdemeanor. The driver, 30-year-old David Meadows was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after he was allegedly found with a small amount of a cocaine. Both were released on appearance tickets.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible, police say.
