Dutchess County Man Accused Of Selling Fake Michael Kors, OtterBox
A Dutchess County man was arrested for allegedly selling fake Michael Kors and OtterBox items at a local street fair.
On Sunday, the Orangetown Police department arrested 50-year-old Richard Biernick of Poughquag for second-degree trademark counterfeiting, a felony.
Authorities were told that some vendors at the Nyack Street Fair were selling fake items from their vending booths. Responding officers observed Biernick operating a booth and selling counterfeit products with Michael Kors and OtterBox trademarks, police say.
A woman from New Jersey is also accused of selling counterfeit Michael Kors merchandise. Bencilla Powell, 60, of Hillside, NJ was charged with third-degree trademark counterfeiting, a misdemeanor.
Both were released after posting bail. They are due in Nyack Justice Court in May.
Firefighters cut the roof of a building where a fire spread at Hudson Terrace in the City of Poughkeepsie.
