A New Jersey man wanted in Ulster County on an unrelated burglary charge was arrested after police allegedly spotted him selling drugs in Ulster.

On Wednesday members of the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team (URGENT) allegedly observed a drug transaction in the parking lot of a gas station on Washington Avenue in the Town of Ulster.

Police say during the ensuing investigation numerous hidden pharmaceuticals were discovered including Vicodin, Klonopin and amphetamines.

Kevin J. Tryanowski, 36, of Lodi, New Jersey was charged with 3rd-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, 5th-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, felonies, and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

A background check determined that Tryanowski was wanted by New York State Police for failing to appear in Shandaken Court in December, 2015 for an unrelated burglary charge.

Mr. Tryanowski was arraigned in Ulster Town Court and remanded to the jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 secured bond. He is due to reappear in Ulster Town Court at a later time. He will also be produced at a later time to Shandaken Court on the outstanding warrant.

URGENT was assisted at the scene by the Town of Ulster Police K9 Unit.
