Newburgh, New York Man Caught With Child Porn, Police Say
A cyber tip led to the arrest of a Newburgh man. Officials allege he was in possession of child porn.
On Friday, The Orange County Child Abuse Unit in conjunction with State Police Montgomery Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and Troop F Computer Crimes Unit (CCU) announce the arrest of Gregory T. Liston, age 37 from Newburgh, NY.
Liston was charged with two counts of promotion of a sexual performance by a child less than 17 years old and three counts of possession of a sexual performance by a child less than 16 years old. All five counts are felonies.
The investigation was initiated as a result of a CyberTip, police say.
A further investigation revealed the suspect was allegedly in possession of child pornography which led to his arrest on Friday, police say.
Liston was arraigned in the City of Newburgh Court before the Honorable City Judge Trachte.
He was remanded to the custody of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in lieu of $10,000 cash, 10% of $50,000 partially secured surety bond, $10,000 insurance company bail bond.
