How to Get Your Commemorative America 250 License Plate

You'll just need a few things.

According to the DMV website, you'll need a valid New York State registration. The DMV states "If your registration expires within the next 60 days, renew your registration online before you order."

You personal information (name, address) all must be up to date with the DMV before you order.

Additionally, you will need a credit or debit card that the DMV will accept and a valid email address "for confirmation purposes."

New York's America's 250th License Plates Will Cost You

With that being said, there are some fees. The initial purchase will run you $60, for a commemorative plate with plate numbers assigned by the DMV. Then, there's an annual renewal fee of $31.25.

For personalized plates with the America 250 logo, it will cost you $91.25, with a renewal fee of $62.50.

New York Celebrates Americas 250th

New York State has been celebrating America's 250th in many different ways.

Across the state there are reenactments and historical tours and events throughout the summer months.
