State Police have charged a Middletown man with stealing around $20,000 from a home in Warwick.

New York State Police at Monroe arrested 42-year-old Michael H. Smith, of Middletown, for 3rd-degree grand larceny.

According to State Police, an investigation revealed that Smith allegedly stole about $20,000 from a residence in the Town of Warwick. The alleged theft took place between February 10th to February 13th.

Police say a further investigation revealed that Smith possessed the money at a local hotel in Middletown on Tuesday February 16th and was subsequently arrested.

Smith was arraigned in the Town of Warwick Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail on Bail pending a future court date.
