
Man Dies Hiking at Breakneck Ridge
A man died after he fell hiking at Breakneck Ridge.
Recently, Department of Environmental Conservation Central Dispatch received a call from the New York State Park Police asking for help in retrieving a dead body which was spotted by another hiker at the base of a cliff on Breakneck Ridge.
Due to the hazardous terrain and safety of personnel, the victim was removed the following morning. Officials set up a technical rope system to lower rangers to retrieve the body, a deceased man, and transported the body to a medical examiner.
The cause of death is being investigated by State Park Police.
