Let's face it many of us have what I call a case of the February's. It is cold and gray and we are stuck inside. This is the time of year you either take a warm vacation or pick up a hobby.

If the vacation is a no-go I might have a hot hobby idea for you that will make it fun to wait out the rest of Winter. A new thrift art project is trending and it might just be the thing to chase away the February cold.

What is Thrift Art Crafting

If you aren't familiar with the Thrift Art craze let me fill you in. Some years back someone decided it would be fun to repurpose old paintings by not painting them over but instead painting things into the existing painting to create a whole new funky piece of art.

This past Fall the Thrift Art hobby exploded again when people started creating Halloween theme art to help decorate for the holiday. That trend led to Christmas themes and now somehow we are trending aliens and otherworldly beings.

Thrift Arting is easy. You head out to your favorite thrift store, pick out an old piece of art, and start creating your masterpiece. It is a good idea to think about what you might like to paint. During Halloween people were floating ghosts in art. Now it seems spaceships are taking over but you do you and pick whatever you want.
