Two corrections officers are recovering from minor injuries after an attempted escape at the Dutchess County Jail in Poughkeepsie, NY.

This isn't the first story to come out of New York in 2024 that sounds like the plot of a movie. Earlier this week, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) announced the discovery of a widespread deer poaching operation that included fake social media accounts and even hiding arrows in walking sticks to avoid suspicion. The incident in Poughkeepsie, however, took much less investigating.
