An Open Letter To The Maniac Driver On Route 9

I hope that wherever you were going this morning in such a hurry was worth it. That that your reckless urgency on the road got you to wherever you needed to be on time. What I do wonder, though, is if you noticed just how many people you nearly hit and/or had clutching their steering wheels while you were driving like an animal on Rt. 9 while it was pouring.

Do I Complain About Hudson Valley Drivers Too Much?

Sometimes I feel like a broken record...

You'll never believe what I saw on the road today?

What the hell was that guy thinking when he pulled that maneuver on the road?

I guess the rules of the road apply to everyone BUT YOU!!!

...at the same time, I am shocked, pretty much on a daily basis with the audacity of some of the people that I share the road with here in the Hudson Valley?

Am I a perfect driver? Nope. Do I sometimes do stupid things in my car? Sure....but then I feel bad and usually mouth 'i'm sorry' or wave tp apologize.

Tuesday November 26th started out not so nice - it was raining pretty heavily, a dark and dreary day, and at 7:30am, the roads were already pretty congested. Maybe it was people heading out for Thanksgiving travel early, or last minute trips to the grocery store ahead of the holiday, but Rt. 9 was particularly busy, and along came this lady in the white GMC.

To The Aggressive Driver That Made A Bunch Of People Angry On Rt. 9

Not sure where you were going, or what caused you to be in such a rush driving through morning rush hour traffic, but your antics had a lot of us freaking out. With it raining sideways and roads being slick, the last thing any of us needed was you weaving in and out of traffic like it was a racetrack; and slamming on your breaks inches from my back bumper, multiple times, wasn't exactly fun either.

The amount of honking I heard as a result of you changing lanes on two wheels made it sound like trying to drive in NYC.

One time, you got so close that my car's crash detection sensor went off...that was exhilarating to experience for the first time since I bought the car. I couldn't even see headlights, that's how close you were.

I think the most ridiculous part of it all, lady in the big white GMC, is considering how many people you cut off, and came close to hitting, and swerved around, how you managed to be right next to me, multiple times, at red lights on our way up Rt. 9, all while I never moved from the middle lane...isn't it ironic?

I guess what i'm trying to say here, crazy lady, is next time you want to drive like an animal, spare the rest of us and do some donuts in an empty parking lot...you'd probably make it just as far as you did today on 9...
