The Ulster County Sheriff's Office recently confirmed an open and active death investigation in the Town of Olive.
On August 25, at about 8:30 AM, Olive Police and deputies from this agency responded to a 911 call at 38 Private Road 20 in the Olivebridge area in the Town of Olive for a reported unattended death.
The decedent was identified as 63-year-old Rose M. Mayhew-Moses, 63, of Saugerties. The preliminary investigation suggests Mayhew-Moses was visiting relatives at the location and may have drowned in a body of water on the property, police say.

The Ulster County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the Ulster County Medical Examiner's Office, District Attorney's Office, New York State Police Forensic Investigation Unit, along with state police investigators from the Kingston, Ellenville, and Catskill barracks, as well as the Troop F Major Crimes Unit. Assistance was also provided by the Town of Olive Police, Saugerties Police Department, NYC Department of Environmental Protection Police, and Olive Fire Department.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 845-338-3640.
