Hudson Valley Woman Accused of Fatal Hit-And-Run
A Hudson Valley man was found dead in the middle of a local road. Days later a woman was charged with his death.

On Thursday, New York State Police announced an arrest following a fatal hit and run in Sullivan County.
On September 4, 2021, at approximately 10:50 p.m., State Police from the Wurtsboro barracks responded to State Route 209 near Perron Drive in the town of Mamakating for an unresponsive man in the roadway.
An investigation revealed that 51-year-old Raymond Anderson from the town of Wallkill was struck by a vehicle that left the area, police say. Anderson was transported to Garnet Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of, 48-year-old Shirley Bowens from the town of Wallkill. Police did not say how the investigation led to the Wallkill woman's arrest.
She was charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death, a felony. She was arraigned in the Town of Mamakating Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail.
