A teacher from the Hudson Valley is accused of sexually touching a child.

On Monday in Texas, Abul Hasanat Alamgir of Chappaqua was charged with indecency with a child by contact, a felony.

The 47-year-old associate professor of public health at New York Medical College sexually touched a child in Texas in December 2017, according to an indictment.

Alamgir sexually touched the child "with the intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire," of the victim, My San Antonio reports.

Alamgir became the Westchester medical school's chairman of the Dept. of Health Policy & Management in 2016, according to the college's twitter. He was named a co-director for the college's Center for Long-Term Care in 2017.

Alamgir was released from prison in Texas after posting $75,000 bond.
