After Losing the Presidency, Hillary Clinton Hikes the Hudson Valley
Following her shocking loss to Donald Trump in her run for the White House, Hillary Clinton was spotted hiking in the Hudson Valley.
Margot Gerster said she was so heartbroken after Clinton’s loss she decided to take a hike with her daughters Thursday afternoon in Chappaqua.
“As we were leaving, I heard a bit of rustling coming towards me and as I stepped into the clearing there she was, Hillary Clinton and Bill with their dogs doing exactly the same thing as I was,” Gerster wrote in a now private Facebook post, according to CBS.
Before leaving the Westchester County hiking trail, Hillary posed with Margot for a photo.
“I got to hug her and talk to her and tell her that one of my most proudest moments as a mother was taking Phoebe with me to vote for her,” Gerster said. “She hugged me and thanked me and we exchanged some sweet pleasantries and then I let them continue their walk.”
Michael Cappetta said on Twitter that former President Bill Clinton snapped the now viral photo.
It marked the first time the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee was seen since conceding the election.
"She seemed as well as anybody could be expected after such a crazy, crazy experience," Gerster told CNN. "She couldn't have seemed any nicer or, you know, kinder and gracious to me."
