A former Hudson Valley high school star has signed a contract to continue his NBA career.

On Sunday, ESPN reported free-agent forward Tyler Lydon agreed to a two-year deal with the Sacramento Kings.

Terms of the contract weren't released; however, a source told to the Sacramento Bee the deal is a two-year minimum contract with a partial guarantee on the $3.83 million he is owed over the next two seasons.

Lydon, a former Pine Plains standout, was selected No. 24 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. The 23-year-old played in just one game during his rookie season due to an injury. He played in 25 games during his second NBA season, following two years at Syracuse University.

According to ESPN, the 6'10" forward's 3-point shooting ability is what attracted him to the Kings.

In 2011, as a freshman in high school, Lydon helped Pine Plains win their first boys basketball section championship since the 1960s. Lydon and the Bombers repeated as Section 9 champions in 2012 and 2013. Also in 2013, he led Pine Plains to the Class C New York State Championship game.
