New York State Police issued an alert in hopes of finding a wanted man who's accused of stealing nearly $30,000 in the Hudson Valley.

On Wednesday, in their weekly Warrant Wednesday Facebook post, New York State Police announced Alexander Saldana is wanted by New York State Police from Monroe for grand larceny.

Saldana was arrested for grand larceny after an investigation by the New York Department of Labor revealed he fraudulently collected unemployment insurance in the amount of $27,748, police say.

Saldana failed to return to court and an arrest warrant was issued from the Orange County Court, according to New York State Police.

The 57-year-old is described by police as being a 5'10" black man with black hair and brown eyes.
