A local gas station employee was arrested over allegations that he attacked a vendor at the gas station.

On Tuesday around 9:30 a.m., Saugerties police responded to a 911 call reporting a dispute at the Sunoco Mart on Route 32 in the Town of Saugerties.

After an investigation, 21-year-old Ammed Mohomed Bendilla Hussien Abdel Fattah of Highland, an employee of the Sunoco Mart, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, misdemeanors, and a violation for harassment.

Fattah is accused of starting a physical dispute with a beverage distributor after the beverage distributor advised Fattah that a cooler that belonged to the distributor was stocked with another competitor’s product.

During the dispute, Fattah became aggressive toward the vendor, shoving the vendor and then punching the vendor in the side of the head, police say.

He then allegedly pulled out a knife, chased the vendor out of the store and threatened the vendor with additional physical pain.

Fattah was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and released upon after posting $500 cash bail. An order of protection was issued for the victim.
