New York State Police stopped a Georgia resident early Sunday morning on I-87. He was charged with driving while intoxicated after his blood alcohol level was well over the legal limit, authorities said.

Marion L. Pope, 44, was driving with his 10-year-old child at the time, which resulted in him being charged with driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle, which is a Class E felony.

He was also cited for several vehicle and traffic violations after being taken to State Police Barracks Montgomery where his blood alcohol level was determined to be .22 percent.

Pope was arraigned in the Town of New Windsor Court and taken to Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or bond.
