
Elderly New York Man Fatally Hit on Route 9W in Hudson Valley
Police are asking for help in finding the driver responsible for fatally hitting an elderly man and fleeing the scene.

The Town of Haverstraw Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run accident that resulted in the death of a man who was crossing Route 9W in Rockland County.
The man was fatally hit around 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
ABC identified the man as 82-year-old Juan Alberto Germonsen. He lived nearby at Green Hills Home for Adults.
The man was fatally hit while crossing Route 9W near Fairmount Avenue in Haverstraw.
According to the police, the vehicle seen below is responsible.
The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Route 9W from New Main Street. It is described as a silver or white Ford Explorer with dark rims and a moonroof. It should be missing the passenger side mirror and have damage to the front passenger side and side number.
Police are asking anyone who may have information or witnessed the incident to call Haverstraw Police Department at 845-354-1500.
