A two-vehicle crash left a busy intersection in Poughkeepsie closed for several hours and a 27-year-old woman hospitalized Tuesday afternoon.

A 2017 box truck was traveling eastbound in the center lane of Haight Avenue. At about 1:42PM, the truck struck a 2007 Scion traveling southbound in the right lane of Raymond Avenue, according to a press release issued by the Town of Poughkeepsie Traffic Enforcement Unit.

The truck was driven by a 61-year-old Hopewell Junction man and the Scion by a 27-year-old Pleasant Valley woman. The drivers' names have not been released.

Town of Poughkeepsie police said the woman was transported via Mobil Life Ambulance to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. The extent of her injuries was not immediately available.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department closed the intersection of Haight Avenue and Raymond Avenue for several hours Tuesday afternoon to investigate the accident. A determination about the cause of the crash has not been revealed and the accident remains under investigation. Police asked any witnesses to the collision to contact them at 845-485-3680.

The Town of Poughkeepsie police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and the Arlinton Fire District.
