Cops in Hudson Valley, New York Search For Gabby Petito's Fiancé

Police in the Hudson Valley are asking residents to be on the lookout for Gabby Petito's fiancé.

On Monday, the Rockland County Sheriff's Office shared a photo from the FBI asking Hudson Valley residents to keep their eyes open for Brian Laundrie.

Federal officials have identified Laundrie as a person of interest in the disappearance of his fiance, 22-year-old Gabby Petito.

A New York State Police spokesperson tells Hudson Valley Post police haven't organized a search for Laundrie in the region but are always on the lookout for people wanted by the FBI.

A body believed to be of Petito was found in a Wyoming national park on Sunday. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. The body was found near where her van was seen on August 27, two days after she last contacted her Long Island family.

Petito was on a cross-country trip with Laundrie. During their trip, on Aug. 12, a witness called 911 reporting seeing Laundrie slap Petito.

Laundrie recently returned to his parent's Florida home but he refused to work with authorities before going missing himself.

On Monday, the FBI raided his parent's house in North Port. Following the raid, his family's lawyer canceled a press conference scheduled for Tuesday in New York.
