Appears Parts of ‘Today’ Show Filmed Again in ‘Upstate New York’
It appears key parts of the "Today" show are being anchored from the Hudson Valley. We'll explain.
"Today" anchor Savannah Guthrie reportedly celebrated her 50th birthday on New Year's Eve in Dutchess County. Guthrie hosted a group of family, friends and celebs at Mirbeau Inn and Spa in Rhinebeck.
The New York Post reported Guthrie's husband rented out the entire hotel for the party to try and limit the spread of COVID-19.
Many COVID precautions were put in place to try and ensure the star-studded guest list was safe. All guests and hotel staff had to be fully vaccinated, with boosters if eligible.
All also were tested after arriving at the Mirbeau Inn and Spa and had to be negative to enter, according to the New York Post.
Many of Guthrie's coworkers reportedly attended including co-host Hoda Kotb.
A few days after New Year's Eve Kotb tested positive for COVID.
On Monday, Guthrie confirmed live on Today she tested positive for COVID.
"Here we go Hoda. We are trading places. I'm working from home. You are back in the studio. You have a negative test for COVID. I just tested for positive for COVID," she said on "Today."
Guthrie appeared on the Today show while "working from home." A graphic said she was in "New York" while Hoda was in "Studio 1A."
It's likely Guthrie was broadcasting from her home in Dutchess County. Like she did during the peak of the pandemic.
Starting in mid-March 2020, Guthrie was broadcasting from her home. She never said where her home was but did say she was broadcasting from "upstate" New York.
In 2017, she told People she has a home in Rhinebeck.
“We have a place in Rhinebeck, New York. It’s not a long drive," she told People.
During the pandemic, she conducted important COVID interviews from home. Guests included Dr. Anthony Fauci, CDC Director Robert Redfield and United States Secretary of Defense Mark Esper. A graphic in each interview shows Guthrie was conducting the interview from "Upstate NY."
