3 Stabbed During Large Fight in Ellenville Apartment
Three people were stabbed during a large fight between a number of people and police inside an Ellenville apartment.
On Friday around 9 p.m., the Ellenville Police Department responded to multiple 911 hangup calls from 81 Center Street.
Arriving officers heard what's described as a loud commotion taking place in one of the apartments. As they tried to open the door, a large glass plate was thrown, knocking a woman to the ground.
Three people were found with stab wounds after police forced their way into the apartment, officials say.
Ten to 15 people were fighting inside the apartment and began fighting with police while authorities tried to take arrested suspects out of the apartment, police say.
Several other police units arrived and they were also engaged by the wild crowd, according to the Ellenville Police Department.
Police had to use tasers and a K9 to control the crowd which led to eight taken into custody. Superior Brown, Simeon Walker, Shareal Brown and Elias Lugardo were all charged with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct. Tamara Gray was also charged with disorderly conduct. Oryion McNabb was arrested on a warrant from the City of Kingston.
Three others were detained and then released. Police are still searching for three other suspects in connection with the fight.
The three people who were stabbed all suffered small wounds and were treated at the scene, police say.
