On Wednesday around 5:20 p.m., the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit responded to a serious injury accident on Creek Road, in front of Dutchess Community College.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 2015 Mercedes Benz, driven by a 74 year-old female from Poughkeepsie hit a 20-year-old female from Red Hook who was walking in the cross walk near the college, police say.
The 20-year-old was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital and later transported to Westchester Medical Center, with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver was not injured, officials say.
The accident remains under investigation and anyone that may have witnessed the accident is asked to call the Traffic Enforcement Unit at 845-485-3680.
