One person was injured after a car slammed into a police car on the Taconic during the snowstorm.

A New York State Police patrol car was stopped on the side of the Taconic State Parkway in LaGrange when it was rear-ended by a car early Monday morning. The police car's emergency lights were activated to alert drivers to a preexisting problem in the roadway, police say.

The unnamed police officer was out of the vehicle assisting a driver who was involved in an earlier crash on the Taconic. The officer wasn't injured because the trooper wasn't in the patrol car at the time of the crash, officials say.

It was initially reported that the driver of the car that struck the police vehicle also wasn't injured, but Troop K Public Information Officer A.J. Hicks told Hudson Valley Post Tuesday morning he later learned the driver was taken to Vassar Brothers Medical Center after complaining of undisclosed pain.

The unnamed driver was ticketed for speed not reasonable for conditions, Hicks told Hudson Valley Post.
