Wild Weather Closes Roads in Hudson Valley, Delays to Train
Wild weather is causing detours and delays in the Hudson Valley Friday morning.
A rare December thunderstorm brought with it very strong winds causing road closures and delays.
"Yes, that is some December thunder and lightning outside, a line of thunderstorms is cutting through the region at this hour, gusty winds with thunder and lightning as this line moves through the region from NW to SE," Hudson Valley Weather wrote Thursday evening.

The Beacon Police Department is advising residents to avoid Beekman Street and High Street due to the storm.

Authorities also urge residents to find a different route to get to the Beacon train station.

"Due to the storm that came through Beacon tonight, we would like to advise you to use an alternative route to get to the train station or avoid Beekman St. and High St. altogether," the Beacon Police Department wrote on Facebook.
A timeline wasn't given, but crews are out repairing the damage.
"Work crews from Central Hudson, Beacon Fire Dept, and DPW are on the scene working hard to repair the damage," Beacon police added.
In Ulster County officials warned about a road closure in Saugerties.
Wires are down around 1176 Glasco Turnpike in the area of Timberwall Road.
"No ETA for Central Hudson. Please use alternate routes and travel with caution," Saugerties police stated.
In Putnam County NY-301 around C.R. 21 in Kent is closed due to a downed tree.
