A 17-year-old student has been charged with a making a terrorist threat towards a Dutchess County High School.

On Monday, New York State Police responded to Webutuck High School to investigate a threat of school violence. Following protocol, the school was placed in a shelter-in-place. A search of the school determined that everyone was safe.

An investigation determined that the undernamed male student made the threat of violence towards Webutuck High School. He was charged with making a terroristic threat, a class D felony.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of North East Justice Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due to reappear in court on March 4th.
