Two From Ulster County Accused Of Home Invasion
Two men from Ulster County are accused of stealing electronics and more from an Ulster County home.
On Tuesday around 6:30 p.m., members of the Town of Plattekill Police Department and the Ulster County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Milton Turnpike in the Town of Plattekill for a reported burglary in progress.
The suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival. The homeowner said multiple electronics and other items of value were stolen.
Authorities soon developed suspects from undisclosed evidence at the scene and on Thursday 33-year-old Christopher J. Williams of Accord and 37-year-old William H. Redner of Clintondale were arrested. Police didn’t say how their investigation led to the arrests.
Both were charged with burglary, grand larceny and conspiracy, all felonies. Both were arraigned in Town of Plattekill Justice Court and remanded to Ulster Count Jail.
Williams in lieu of $100,000 cash bail and $200,000 secured bond. Redner in lieu of $2,500 cash bail and $5,000 secured bond.
Town of Plattekill Police and Ulster County Sheriff's Office Detectives were assisted in the investigation by investigators from the New York State Police at Highland.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges are likely, police say.
