Troopers Still Investigating I-84 Wreck
On December 18 around 5:45 pm, New York State Police stopped a Nissan sedan for vehicle and traffic violations. As Troopers began exiting the marked patrol car with all emergency lights activated, a 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-280 side-swiped the front of the patrol car and then slammed into the rear of the Nissan.
The Mercedes rolled over and came to a rest upside down in the center of I-84. The driver and only occupant, 24-year-old Aleksandr J. Venticinque of Danbury was removed from the vehicle and found to be uninjured.
The Nissan which had been pushed off of the road as a result of the crash was occupied by three people that needed to be extricated by the Lake Carmel Fire Department. 64-year-old Luis Juanacido the driver and front seat passenger Edwin J. Villavicencio, age 38, both of Danbury were transported to Danbury Hospital with minor injuries.
