This spring, local scientists plan to release Samurai Wasps into the Hudson Valley to kill stink bugs. One local scientists tells us why this is a good idea.

In the below video, Peter Jentsch, the Senior Extension Associate in the Department of Entomology for Cornell University’s Hudson Valley Laboratory located in Highland, tells Hudson Valley Post why releasing these Samurai Wasps won’t harm the Hudson Valley but will in fact, help!

The Samurai Wasps were recently found in the Hudson Valley. The goal is bring the wasps into a Highland lab and have the wasps lay eggs into a colony of stink bug eggs. This process should slow the reproduction of stink bugs.
