A Poughkeepsie man who, is already currently serving time in prison for a different matter, has been arrested in connection with two burglaries from one Dutchess County home.

New York State Police were dispatched to investigate a burglary at a Town of Wappinger home. The victim told police her home was unoccupied when it was burglarized in late August and then again in early September of 2015.

Following a investigation, police allege, 34-year-old Steven J. Finney stole two mopeds, tools, copper piping, and a television from the Town of Wappinger home during the two burglaries.  A warrant was issued for the Poughkeepsie man's arrest in December of 2015.

On Thursday January 7th, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Finney in connection with the two robberies. He was charged with 3rd-degree burglary, a class D felony.

Finney was transported from the Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill, where he is currently serving time on an unrelated matter, to the Town of Wappinger Court for arraignment.  After his arraignment, Finney was returned to Downstate Correctional Facility by DOCCS Staff.
