This week, we get to speak with Alissa Coschigano Mosca about Rocky’s Ruck for Johnny Cake. In her father’s honor, she and her family have partnered with Guardian Revival to raise funds to help sponsor service animals for veterans. We talk about the impact the Ruck has had on the Wappingers community along with the Hudson Valley military community at large, and how folks can contribute.
This week’s episode of In Touch marks the return of Joey Cavaccini, Wappinger Town Historian and Wappinger Town Historian. Together, Joey and I dive more into the expansive history of Dutchess County, and how that history still impacts us today. Joey goes into the recent expansion of Reese Park, upcoming events for First Saturday Wappingers, and resurrection of the spirit of the Dahlia Festival. Fun fact, Wappinger used to be the Dahlia Capital of the World. You can hear the whole history about it in this episode.
