A woman is accused of entering a local prison with ammo.
On Sunday, New York State Police from Poughkeepsie arrested 28-year-old Aiesha L. Jenkins, of Lilburn, Georgia, for promoting prison contraband, a felony.
Jenkins was arrested as the result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Police and the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.
The investigation found that that Jenkins entered Green Haven Correctional Facility in Dutchess County with live 9 mm ammunition, police say. Authorities didn’t say a motive or who the ammo was allegedly for.
Jenkins was arraigned in the Town of Beekman Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,500 bond.
