Police: Hudson Valley Man Pulls Out Loaded Shotgun Near Softball Fields
Two men were arrested after one allegedly pulled out a loaded shotgun near softball fields in the Hudson Valley.
On Wednesday, the Kingston Police Department received a call about a man with a gun near the softball fields in the City of Kingston.
Responding officers found Tyler R. Swart and Christopher J. Rogers, both 26 from Saugerties, leaving the area in a car.
Police stopped the car and allegedly found Swart to be in possession of a loaded shotgun. Both were taken into custody and the shotgun was safely removed by police.
An investigation determined that Swart pulled out the shotgun during an altercation with a number of people near the softball fields, police say.
Swart was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and endangering the welfare of a child. He was remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
Rogers with charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated. He was issued an appearance ticket to return to Kingston City Court at a later date.
