Police: Hudson Valley Lawyer Had Sexual Contact With Clients, More Victims Possible
More and more people are coming forward after a local lawyer was accused of engaging in a continual inappropriate sexual conduct with a client. Police believe more victims are possible.
Following an investigation by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau, 63-year-old Wayne Thatcher of Poughkeepsie was accused of engaging in a continual course of inappropriate sexual conduct with a client.
On Friday, Thatcher was charged with sexual abuse, a felony, after another person came forward with information about another incident, police say.
One week ago, Thatcher was charged with one count of forcible touching, a misdemeanor, in May he received two-counts.
At this time, seven people have come forward with information relating to incidents involving Thatcher, an attorney in the Hudson Valley, officials say.
