Police: Dutchess County Man Choked Female & Threatened Her with Dumbbell

State Police arrested a Dutchess County man for allegedly chocking a female and threatening her with a dumbbell.

State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks charged 53-year-old Alfrederick Morrison Jr., of LaGrange for 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony, 2nd-degree menacing, and criminal obstruction of breathing, both class A misdemeanors.

Troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to a McDonnell Road residence for a disturbance. Following to a verbal dispute police say Morrison choked the victim and menaced her with a dumbbell.

Morrison was arraigned in the Town of LaGrange Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $15,000 cash bail.
