An Orange County man is accused of illegally receiving over $3,500 in unemployment benefits.

On Thursday, State Police in Middletown arrested 39-year-old Robyn Tauszky of Port Jervis. According to the New York State Department of Labor, between May and Nov. 2013, Tauszky made false statements to the Department of Labor that he was unemployed, when in fact, he was gainfully employed by construction businesses in Westchester County and New York City.

As a result of the false statements, Tauszky illegally received $3,544 in unemployment benefits, police say.

Following an investigation, Tauzky was charged with third-degree grand larceny. He was arraigned in City of Port Jervis Court, and committed to Orange County Jail in lieu of bail pending a future court appearance.
