Police in New York Will Ticket You For This
Did you know it's illegal in New York to park your car in your driveway while blocking the sidewalk?
Under the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law driving or parking on sidewalks is prohibited, according to the Monroe Police Department.
In a Facebook post, the Monroe Police Department announced officers strictly enforce the law because it is "a quality of life issue."
When a car or any portion of a vehicle is blocking a sidewalk, like in the above photo, it causes people to have to walk into the road to go around the vehicle, putting them in danger, police say.
