New York Man Dies After Driving Into Stream in Hudson Valley
A pick-up truck driver is dead after he drove his car into a stream in the Hudson Valley.
On Wednesday around 8:15 p.m., New York State Police from the Catskill barracks responded to State Route 42 for reports of a crash.
Police say a pick-up truck was in a stream on Route 42 in the town of Lexington and the driver was unconscious.
When troopers arrived, the Greene County Paramedics were on scene and informed the troopers that the operator of the vehicle was deceased, police say.
An investigation revealed that the pick-up, a Ford F-150, was traveling north on State Route 42 in the town of Lexington when the vehicle left the roadway off the east shoulder, striking a utility pole and coming to rest in a creek.
The driver was identified as 53-year-old Douglas Cronk of Grand Gorge.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
