New Movie Theater Opens in the Hudson Valley
A new movie theater opened up in the Hudson Valley at a historic site.
On Friday, Feb. 15, Story Screen Beacon opened to the public at 445 Main Street in Beacon, the site of the former Beacon Theater. The first movie to be screened was Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure followed by Back to the Future, according to the company's website.
"We had an absolute blast and can’t wait to share more movies, both old and new, with all you fine folks," Story Screen Beacon wrote on Instagram.
Story Screen Beacon features two theaters with plans to show classic films as well as new favorites. One theater has 77 seats the other 25.
As of now, the theater is open Wednesday through Sunday. This week Story Screen Beacon is increasing to eight screenings a day.
For the next two weeks, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Princess Bride, Blade Runner, Citizen Kane, Wall-E and The Lego Batman Movie will be shown.
