Missing Elderly New York Man Murdered By Hudson Valley Brothers, Police
An elderly man who went missing in the Hudson Valley was found dead. Brothers from the region are accused of killing him at his home.
On Friday, New York State Police from Troop F announced the arrest of brothers from Sullivan County.
The New York State Police announce the arrest of 21-year-old Jack Carter and his older brother, 26-year-old Nick Carter. Both live in Sullivan County.
Troop F covers Rockland, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster and Greene counties.
Nick and Jack Carter were both charged with second-degree murder.
The arrest stems from an investigation into a missing person from Glen Spey, the town of Lumberland. On January 15, 2022, 74-year-old Mark Eckert from Glen Spey, New York, was reported missing to the New York State Police Liberty Barracks.

An investigation ensued and on January 19, 2022, the body of Eckert was found dead on his property in Glen Spey.

Jack and Nick Carter were located later that day in New Jersey. It's unclear why the brothers were in New Jersey.
