Martha Stewart's "beautiful" and "defenseless" cat was killed at her Hudson Valley, New York home.
Stewart believes it was a freak accident saying the cat was "defenseless."
Martha Stewart's Cat Killed By Her Four Dogs
Stewart shared the sad news with her fans on Instagram. She says her cat, Princess Peony, was accidentally killed by four dogs.
"The four dogs mistook her for an interloper and killed her defenseless little self," Stewart wrote on Instagram.
Princess Peony Buried in Hudson Valley
Stewart told her fans she buried her beloved cat on her farmhouse in Westchester County.
"Burying the beautiful and unusual Princess Peony," she wrote on Instagram. I will miss her very badly. RIP beauty."
Warning Sign?
In August, Stewart posted a photo (seen above) to Instagram which now can potentially be viewed as unfortunate foreshadowing.
"My cats feel liberated because the four dogs are away on vacation," Stewart wrote. "Leaving the cats alone in the house to roam, relax, recover !!"
Princess Peony
Princess Peony, a dominant calico Persian, was born on May 11, 2009, according to Stewart's website.
Martha Stewart's Iconic Hudson Valley Home
The 80-year-old celebrity lives on a 156-acre property in Bedford, New York.
The compound comes with seven houses, a barn, and many animals.
"Three horses, 150 chickens, and many, many geese on Martha's 156-acre Bedford, New York, farm," Stewart's website states.
