Colandrea Pizza King opened up in 1980 in Middletown. The popular pizzeria located on Route 211 East is now under new ownership, the pizzeria confirmed on Facebook.
A Hudson Valley Post correspondent believes the food tastes different, since the ownership change. A number of our readers believe the same.
Loyal customers took to Colandrea Pizza King's Facebook complaining the food tastes different.
On Thursday, the new owners took to Facebook to assure customers the food has not changed.
"We would like to take away any concerns from our customers... Things have not changed at Colandrea's. Jerry, our beloved Pizza guy, who has been making your pizzas for over 20 years is still here! He is using the same ingredients he has always used. We are still using the same recipes on almost every single item," Colandrea Pizza King wrote on Facebook.
In the comment section of that post, many longtime customers disagreed.
The new owners maintain the food and recipes are the same.
"We know you love Colandrea's. We do too! And we want to make all of our old and new customers happy and well fed," Colandrea Pizza King added on Facebook.
