Local Teen Killed In Car Crash Donates Organs, Family Needs Help
The local teen that died Tuesday from injuries he sustained in a car crash has donated his organs. His family is in need of help, here’s how you can help.
On Tuesday, we learned that 17-year-old Dillon F. Colon of Poughkeepsie passed away as a result of a car accident from nearly two weeks ago. A classmate of Colon also died in the crash.
There is no way to find good in the loss of a young person’s life, but in the wake of tragedy, Colon’s family has decided to help others.
“Since Dillon was such a giving child we have donated all of his organs,” Nicole Wrona said in a GoFundMe page setup for Dillon’s family.
The GoFundMe page was setup by family friends, because Dillon’s medical expenses exceeded his family’s financial budget.

While driving home from school, on Wednesday May 31, Colon’s car left the road and hit a tree on Todd Hill Road in the Town of LaGrange.
Colon’s passenger, 17-year-old Ryan J Mucci of Poughkeepsie succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash the following day.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, but speed is believed to be a contributing factor, police say.
Colon and Mucci were both Arlington seniors.
An earlier post incorrectly stated that the GoFundMe page was setup by the Millbrook Diner.
