Dog Found With Life-Threatening Injuries on Dutchess County Road
A dog possibly struck by a vehicle has been located in Dutchess County.
Earlier on the morning of July 2nd, 2024, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) was called to respond to an area of Route 22 in the Town North East, New York for a severely injured dog that was possibly struck by a vehicle.
Dog Found in Dutchess County Severely Injured
The call came in on Tuesday morning at approximately 2:36 a.m., asking for a Dutchess County Deputy Sheriff to respond to the vicinity of 6180 Route 22 in the Dutchess County Town of North East for a severely injured German Shepherd. As deputies responded they located a severely injured dog that appeared to have suffered "life-threatening injuries" according to the Sherriff's Department's Facebook page.
Deputies Jump Into Action
Due to the severity of the dog's injuries, the Sheriff's Deputies at the scene quickly transported it to nearby Guardian Veterinary Specialists located at 4 Hardscrabble Heights in Brewster, New York to have it treated.

At this time, the dog's condition hasn't been released by authorities but when more information becomes available we will update this article.
