McDonald’s is set to launch a new culinary experience for its U.S. customers with the introduction of the Special Grade Garlic Sauce, inspired by the popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. This limited-time offering, previously available only in Japan, will be exclusively accessible through the McDonald’s mobile app starting July 9.

Crafted to replicate the beloved Black Garlic Sauce from McDonald’s Japan, the Special Grade Garlic Sauce features a harmonious blend of garlic and soy sauce flavors, complemented by a subtle tangy sweetness. Its unique taste profile aims to appeal to both food enthusiasts and anime fans alike.

In a nod to its collaboration with Jujutsu Kaisen, the sauce will be packaged with eight distinctive lid designs featuring characters from the anime series, making it a sought-after collectible for fans.

Moreover, McDonald’s is offering a special incentive for those who order the Special Grade Garlic Sauce through their mobile app: each purchase will include a complimentary 30-day trial of Crunchyroll, the premier streaming platform for anime content. This bonus underscores McDonald’s commitment to engaging with the ever expanding anime community

While these new sauces offer exciting new flavors and tie-ins with popular culture, there's a nostalgic sentiment among some fans. Many still long for the return of the original Szechuan Sauce, first introduced in 1998. Its unique tangy and slightly spicy flavor gained a cult following, sparked by its brief return in 2017. Despite the excitement for new offerings like the Special Grade Garlic Sauce, the clamor for the original Szechuan Sauce continues to resonate with McDonald’s enthusiasts.

Remember, this exclusive sauce will only be available via the McDonald’s app, so mark your calendars and prepare to savor this distinctive blend starting July 9.
