Hudson Valley Man Accused of Vandalizing Local Cemetery

A Hudson Valley man is accused of defiling a number of tombstones from a local cemetery as well as vandalizing a Parks and Recreation building.

On Tuesday, the Village of Liberty Police Department arrested Landon Dulaff, 36, of Liberty after an investigation into the desecration of several tombstones at the Liberty Cemetery in the Village of Liberty.

On August 9, Village of Liberty officers observed several tombstones in the Liberty Cemetery were defaced with graffiti, police say. A further investigation revealed that a wall on the Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation building was also allegedly vandalized in a similar fashion.

An investigation revealed that Dulaff caused the damage to the tombstones and the Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation building, according to police.

Dulaff was charged with cemetery desecration in the 1st degree, a felony, and making graffiti and possession of graffiti instruments, misdemeanors. Dulaff was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.
