Help Needed After Elderly Hudson Valley Marine Killed
A large reward is being offered after a local elderly marine was killed in a hit and run accident.
Around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17, 90-year-old Fred Woolsey, a retired United State Marine, was found injured by City of Newburgh police at the corner of Grand Avenue and Park Place.
He was taken to St. Luke’s hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Woosley was hit by a car while walking near the Newburgh waterfront. The car fled the scene, police say.
New York State Crime Stoppers, acting as a resource for the City of Newburgh Police Department, are offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
