
Drunk Newburgh Charged With Felony DWI on New York State Thruway
Police say a Newburgh man they pulled over on I-87 was driving with a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit.

On Monday around 5:50 a.m., New York State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the town of Cornwall for an alleged vehicle and traffic violation. The driver, Hosmar J. Garcia Giron, 23, of Newburgh was found to be intoxicated, police say.
He was taken into custody, transported and processed at State Police headquarters in Newburgh, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be .18 percent, more than twice the legal limit of intoxication, according to New York State Police.

Additionally, Giron has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and as a result, he was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI; both class E felonies, officials say.
Giron was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Cornwall Court next month.
